Tucked away in the scenic, quiet foothills of Modjeska Canyon is the Environmental Nature Center – Tucker Wildlife Sanctuary. Explore hiking trails, a natural history museum, and a bird observation deck where hummingbirds flutter by in abundance. Bring a copy of this Tucker Wildlife Sanctuary scavenger hunt and search for local plants and other items found throughout the 12-acre sanctuary. Discover fossils in rocks dating back 25-50 million years, y-shaped trees, and an old water pump and well . In the nature museum, learn about the local history, touch various animal skulls and furs, and meet some of the living reptiles who call the center “home”.

The Chaparral Trail and picnic area are open for use by the public at any time, as is the adjacent Cleveland National Forest. However, the wildlife sanctuary is only open to the public on Saturdays and Sundays from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.
