Oso Creek Trail is a 5.5 mile trail system where families can hike, bike, and explore beautiful nature in Mission Viejo, CA. Make your journey as short or as long as you wish with various routes and starting points to choose from. Bring along a copy of our Oso Creek Trail scavenger hunt to keep your kids engaged on the trail as they search for various plants and attractions along the way. Easy finds include the Jeronimo tunnel, the peace obelisk (built to honor the victims of 9/11), and the circular hedge maze. Keep your eyes peeled for dinosaur and bear footprints, trail markers, birdhouses, and bridges that cross the creek.

Hint: The majority of items on this scavenger hunt can be found around the Norman P. Murray Center and along the trail between La Paz Road and Jeronimo Road. (Don’t miss the recently installed bear statues shortly after passing through the Jeronimo tunnel on your way to Casta del Sol.) The total hike to find all of the objects will be about 2.5 miles, and of course, doesn’t have to be done all in one visit. The trail is bike and stroller friendly, so it’s a great outdoor adventure for families with children of all ages.
